What is Dental Sedation?

Dental sedation refers to a number of techniques used to make patients more comfortable during dental procedures. Depending on your case and your unique needs, our dentists can help determine if a dental sedation option is right for you. 

At Espaces Sourires, we try to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their dental appointments. In addition to our sedation options, we will work at your pace, take breaks when you need them, and offer calm reassurance as needed.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Nitrous oxide is a gas that is inhaled through the mouth and nose with the goal of calming patients even as they remain awake and able to communicate. It also tends to lessen anxiety, increase pain threshold, reduce gag reflex and make time pass more quickly. 

Nitrous oxide can help children relax while sitting in the dentist's chair, so they can get the care they need to maintain a healthy smile.
